Doggie Initiative Class Details

Our Doggie Initiative class is centered on the principles of family dog mediation, offering a holistic approach to canine companionship:

• Balancing Nature and Nurture: We emphasize the balance between your dog’s natural instincts and the nurturing environment you provide. This balanced perspective guides our training methods and helps address the root causes of behavioral issues.

• Tailored Solutions: We understand that every dog is unique, and we tailor our approach to meet your dog where they are. Our focus is not solely on obedience but on building a strong partnership that respects your dog’s individuality.

• Enhanced Communication: By applying family dog mediation principles, we foster improved communication between you and your dog. This class is not about control; it’s about understanding, connection, and mutual growth.

• Addressing the Whole Dog: We consider all aspects of your dog’s well-being, encompassing Learning, Environment, Genetics, and Self (L.E.G.S.). This ethological view ensures that our interventions are comprehensive and effective.

In the Doggie Initiative class, we empower you and your canine companion with essential skills and knowledge that go beyond traditional dog training. Here’s a glimpse of what you can expect to learn:

• Understanding Your Dog’s World: We begin by exploring the intricate world of your dog, focusing on their natural instincts and responses to the environment. This understanding forms the foundation for effective communication and harmonious coexistence.

• Behavior Harmony: We address common behavioral challenges such as nipping, jumping, and body handling sensitivities. Our approach is rooted in family dog mediation principles, emphasizing communication and empathy to create a harmonious living environment. Understanding how to offer consent and build agency within your pets think tank.

• Building a Solid Foundation: Your dog will acquire foundational cues, including waiting politely for their food bowl, learning cues like ‘down,’ ‘sit,’ and ‘come when called,’ and developing focus. These skills enhance your dog’s responsiveness while fostering a deeper connection.

• Unlocking the Language of Dogs: We delve into the fascinating world of dog body language, helping you decipher your dog’s signals and behaviors. This knowledge is invaluable for addressing issues and building trust. The first step is being able to recognize simple signals to help teach and redirect.

• Problem-Solving and Resilience: For dogs who may have faced challenges early on, our class equips you with hacks that will give them the tools to navigate their environment confidently. As a Family Dog Mediator i’m here to help establish principles to ensure your dog’s emotional well-being and behavior harmony.

The Doggie Initiative class blends the principles of ethology with traditional dog training to provide you with a unique and enriching experience. You’ll not only acquire practical skills but also gain a deeper understanding of your dog’s nature, leading to a more fulfilling and harmonious partnership by understanding the impact of the L.E.G.S model.
